Moxtek, Philips to Co-Develop Novel ArrayAugust 2009 Philips and Moxteks' surface-specific detection of the WGM provides a significant reduction in microarray work flow by removing the need for a washing step and providing the ability to monitor the binding of biomolecules to the substrate in real time. Moxtek has traditionally been involved in the X-ray and optical-components markets. Moxtek product managers believe that co-developing the new microarray platform is the next step for Moxtek. The new platform does have advantages over common market place technologies. It is an open system designed to work with most commercial microarray readers. The platform allows a hybridization chamber to be placed on the slide, which cuts out the need for a separate washing step. |
